First and foremost my absolute prime love in life is my family. I have been married to Fiona since 1992 and am as happy and proud of her now as I was when we first got together in 1983. Our lives were made complete by our kids Christie (born in 1994) and Scott (born in 2005). The reality is that nothing else matters above our family. |

In terms of hobbies, music has been my passion since starting playing in 1979. Having been a bass player between 1979 and 2003 (playing bits of guitar when writing and recording my own original material), I changed to guitar as my primary instrument in 2004 with the formation of current band The Shine. More info on my music activities are under the separate category. |

When not working, spending quality time with the family or sweating on a stage with The Shine (does this leave any time?) one of my greatest pleasures is hillwalking. As this picture shows, nothing beats the view from the top of one of Scotland's peaks - this one is Ben Lomond. You truly get a completely awe inspiring view of creation - although sometimes a slog to get there, but worth it! I've also had the pleasure of leading the Youthstart group from Inverkeithing with my friend Martin Bamford since 2002 and introducing a large number of teenagers to the beauties of the great Scottish outdoors. |
